Call for employers to contribute to Virtual Careers Expo

8 September 2020

The Pledge, part of the Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership, works with employers and education to inspire the next generation of employees. The last few months have been challenging, but we have all discovered new ways of working, and that includes young people too. It will be some time before schools and colleges can arrange normal careers fairs, however The Pledge has facilitated innovative ways for employers to engage with young people by organising a series of virtual Careers Expos across the sub region. The Northwich and Winsford Expo takes place on 14th October, and the Chester and Ellesmere Port one takes place on 15th October.

The Pledge is inviting businesses to participate in one or both of the Expos.  Your involvement would include producing a 3 minute video, either by filming it yourself or The Pledge can arrange for Learn Live, their delivery partners, to film it for you and to login into the website on the day when your video is being broadcast to answer students’ questions in the live chat.  An example of the webpage can be found at: https://learnliveuk.com/northwich-and-winsford-pledge-expo/

To express your interest, please complete the employer participation form. The videos are being prepared currently with the aim to have them filmed by 16th September, however that deadline can be extended slightly as The Pledge are keen to have as many businesses as possible participate, as young people need information so that they can make informed career decisions. This is a great opportunity to showcase your business and develop long-standing relationships with schools and colleges to build a talent pipeline.
