Chester second best in UK for restaurants

7 July 2021

Chester has been named the second best restaurant hotspot in the UK in a recent study.

The research carried out by CIA Landlord Insurance looked at all the cities' population figures and combined that with the number of restaurants to work out a score per capita.

It also collated the percentage of vegan restaurants, the average price and how many Michelin star eateries each city has.

And Chester came second with a score of six out of 10, coming narrowly behind the Somerset city of Wells, which got a score of 6.1.

A spokesperson for CIA Landlord said that Chester scored highly because it had the highest percentage of restaurants with a Michelin star (2.2 per cent).
