Delivery of Highway Services Review

18 June 2020

Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC) is the highway authority responsible for maintaining the highway network in the Borough of Cheshire West and Chester. This includes the maintenance, renewal and improvement of carriageways, footways, cycleways, structures, drainage systems, restraint systems, lighting, signalling and other associated assets; the carrying out of winter maintenance services.

The Council is now undertaking a review of its highway service delivery and intends to engage with the market to help inform the process of options development and the identification of the preferred model for the future. This will include engagement with all suppliers including local businesses across the Borough to explore ways in which future highway service delivery arrangements can be undertaken.

The Council is seeking feedback from interested local businesses to enable its options development process for the new highway service delivery model.

With the current risks associated with physical meetings, recent government announcements and organisational continuity plan associated with the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Council will like to informally engage with local businesses by inviting you to complete a questionnaire by visiting ‘The Chest (the North West Procurement Portal). Please note that free registration is required to access the questionnaire on the Chest if you have not already registered to be a user.

Interested local businesses are therefore invited to visit  ‘The Chest’ to complete the questionnaire and return it using the Council’s e-tendering portal by 17.00 on Thursday 9th July 2020.

It is anticipated that after the review of your completed questionnaire by the Council, an online meeting may be facilitated to further discuss your feedback with the Council if required   during week commencing 20th/27th July 2020 if a discussion regarding the response is required.

If you have any difficulty in accessing the questionnaire  through the Chest, email Highway Service Delivery
