Ellesmere Port Catholic High School (EPCHS) Employer Engagement Pilot

4 June 2020

The Cheshire and Warrington Pledge Partnership is looking to support a group of students to raise their awareness and aspirations of work, despite the lockdown situation.  June and July has historically been the time when schools and young people arrange work placements, however as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic this is not possible.  Rather than doing nothing, the Pledge team would like employers in the Ellesmere Port area to do something different.

Delivering a virtual employer engagement session aimed at;

- Supporting young people to utilise technology in a non-social context, e.g. preparing them for digital recruitment practices which are being adopted by many workplaces

- Developing young peoples’ skills to use tools such as Google classrooms and Microsoft Teams to respond to a workplace scenario-based activity.

- Identifying more Ellesmere Port employers who would be interested in supporting the Pledge

The ask; activities will be planned for week commencing 29 June and 6 July to support an identified cohort of year 10 and 12 students.  The sessions would be a mixture of pre-recorded videos and live Q & A opportunities.  Support will be on hand from the school and the pledge team throughout the pilot.
The Pledge are looking for employer representatives from a range of sectors to be included.

If you are interested in supporting the pilot, please email Mark Bosworth for more information.
