Plans for a new Lidl store at a Chester retail park which would create up to 40 jobs have been lodged. The discount supermarket chain is proposing to amalgamate two shop units at Caldy Valley Retail Park in Great Boughton - currently occupied by B&M and Rightway - into a new food store.

If the plans are given the green light by Cheshire West and Chester Council, the store would become Lidl's second in Chester after it opened a site at the Greyhound Retail Park back in 2018. Lidl says it would work with both B&M and Rightway to allow their existing staff the opportunity to apply for a role at the new store.
