Mental health and wellbeing seminars launched for local businesses

20 August 2021

Following the positive feedback received earlier this year, business leaders in west Cheshire are again being given the opportunity to improve their wellbeing and that of their employees by signing up for a series of online webinars launched in response to COVID-19.

Wellbeing 4 Performance Limited has been re-commissioned by Cheshire West and Chester Council to provide local businesses with essential training designed to empower leaders with information and skills to help support and develop their workforce during these challenging times.

This initiative is part of a wider project to improve the mental health and wellbeing for groups across the Borough.

Councillor Gareth Gould, the Council Leader’s Mental Health Champion said: “There is a clear demand for continued support for businesses as the effects of COVID-19 continue. I trust the new sessions will be as well attended and provide business owners, managers, and staff with the additional mental health support they need. The effects on mental health is one of the hidden symptoms of COVID that can be as damaging as the physical symptoms.”

Topics include understanding the importance of mental health and wellbeing at work, how to improve your mindset, and practical support on how to develop your mental health toolkit, strategies, and action plans. The webinars will also help business leaders explore ways to build a mentally healthy workplace and positive wellbeing culture. The webinars are presented by an experienced team that includes experts in health and wellbeing, law, occupational health, human resources, and workplace coaching.

Wellbeing 4 Performance Limited, Occupational Health and Wellbeing Specialist and Director, Julie Paterson added: “The uncertainty and change over the last eighteen months resulting from the pandemic have left many business leaders feeling concerned and anxious. Juggling local and national restrictions often at short notice, health and safety measures, furlough, staff wellbeing and their own mental health has brought about a great deal of stress and pressure. This series of online webinars is a safe place where leaders can share local information, gain essential support and learn strategies to empower themselves and their employees to build resilience and adjust to the new world of work.”
