RSK Group acquires rope access company

28 January 2021

Cheshire-headquartered environmental, engineering and technical services specialist RSK Group has expanded with the acquisition of a rope-access company.

Founded in 1997 and based in Cumbria, CAS Access has worked across the renewable energy sector for more than 13 years, providing a range of services for wind turbine inspection and repair.

The company will join fellow RSK subsidiary CAN Renewables, which provides installation, inspection, repair and maintenance services for renewable energy systems and has seen rapid growth since its formation in June 2020.

CAS director Glenn Sutcliffe will continue to lead the business.

RSK chief executive and founder Alan Ryder said: "Our CAN Renewables business has grown rapidly since its formation earlier this year and we see huge opportunities in the maintenance and repair of large wind-turbine blades as the UK moves towards a greener future.

"The acquisition of CAS, a company with a strong reputation in this area, provides an exciting opportunity to expand our existing renewables services."

Sutcliffe added: "Joining CAN renewables and the wider RSK family gives us access to a far greater set of resources than we have ever had before.

"These resources enable us to increase our service potential and widen our current scope of works to all our existing and new clients."

CAS is RSK's fifth acquisition this month and eleventh of the 2020/2021 financial year.
