The Eaton Hotel

30 March 2022

Work has finally started on the redevelopment of a dilapidated Chester city centre hotel - three years after the plans were given the green light. The Eaton Hotel in City Road, which has stood empty since 2016, will undergo a major revamp - including an extension - to create 49 bedrooms along with a restaurant, bar area and meeting room.

Twenty Nine City Road Ltd secured planning consent from Cheshire West and Chester Council back in March 2019. Almost a year to the day, work finally got underway to bring the rundown site back into use.

In a fresh application to vary the conditions of the planning permission for the phased implementation of the scheme, it reveals that work began on March 3. It's not known at this stage how long the refurbishment and extension is likely to take.
