Three weeks remain for rural broadband Call for Evidence

21 May 2021

The Department of Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) is currently running a Call for Evidence on Improving Broadband in Very Hard to Reach Locations. They are in particular seeking contributions of evidence from small- and medium-sized businesses located in rural and remote areas, who may require better broadband connections and have encountered barriers when trying to secure them.
This request to rural businesses sits alongside a survey of consumers and other engagement with the telecoms industry on new technologies, capabilities and costs, which may be deployed to meet this challenge.

The evidence gathered will enable DCMS to assess the options available for delivering improved connectivity to areas where the costs of delivering better digital infrastructure have so far proven to be a barrier to deployment.

Rural businesses in Cheshire are being encouraged to participate, and the Call for Evidence closes on the 11th of June.
