Event description

Local supplier opportunities

Supporting local businesses to engage with opportunities linked to the new Leighton Hospital.

The new Leighton Hospital is one of the largest public investments in Mid Cheshire for a generation.

Alongside delivering a modern healthcare facility for our communities, we want to ensure local businesses are aware of, and prepared for, opportunities that may arise throughout the programme.

This build directly on our commitment to ensure location organisations are well-informed and ready to engage with opportunities linked to this significant investment.

Why are we engaging with local businesses?

We know that major infrastructure programmes can create opportunities across a wide range of sectors, from construction and engineering through to professional services, digital, logistics, facilities management and specialist suppliers.

Be supply chain ready events

Our supply chain readiness events bring together programme partners, contractors and local businesses to provide information about the programme and the wider supply chain landscape.

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn more about the vision and scale of the development
  • Understand the wider Healthier Futures ambitions
  • Hear from programme and construction partners
  • Learn how to position their organisation for future opportunities
  • Connect with other organisations and support networks

Who should register?

We welcome interest from local businesses, whose trading location is within 25 miles of the Leighton Hospital site. Specifically, this could include:

  • construction businesses
  • engineering businesses
  • local trade businesses

We actively encourage local VCSEs and MSMEs, which can deliver support to any of the above services, to also register.

Preparing for future opportunities

Large infrastructure projects often require suppliers to demonstrate specific standards, accreditations and capabilities.

Businesses can begin preparing by considering:

  • quality and assurance arrangements
  • health and safety standards
  • social value credentials
  • environmental sustainability commitments
  • digital capability and readiness
  • workforce skills and capacity
