Leading travel firm Jet2 is putting "significant investment" into a new production plant in Ellesmere Port which will see the airline receive sustainable aviation fuel over a 15-year period.

The new facility, which is being developed by Fulcrum BioEnergy Ltd, is a 'waste-to-fuels' plant located at Essar's Stanlow refinery and is expected to be up and running in 2027. The agreement will see Jet2 plc - which encompasses the leisure airline Jet2.com and the UK's largest tour operator Jet2holidays - invest an equity stake in the plant.
