Northwich business recognised in Great Taste Awards 2025

A Northwich business received recognition for one of its spice mixes in the form of an award in the Great Taste Awards 2025.

The Great Northern Spice Co received one star from the Guild of Fine Food for its all-natural, artisan Cape Malay Curry Blend.

The Headfords sell their seasonings at artisan markets and food festivals as well as via a number of delis and farm shops in the North West.

The Cape Malay Curry Blend was one of almost 15,000 products from thousands of producers to go to the judges of this year's awards.

An awards spokesperson said: "After thousands of blind tastings by our expert panel, we are proud to reveal this year's one-, two- and three-star award winners.

"Congratulations to all of the producers who took part."

The business is among dozens of winners in the county and thousands of winners in the UK of either one star, two stars or three stars.

The Great Northern Spice Co's one-star score, as awarded to around a quarter of entries, is for any entry which is 'simply delicious'.
