'Welcoming' Winsford gym will be touching tribute to late PT

The legacy of a personal trainer who lost his life in a paddleboarding accident is living on at a new gym in Winsford. 

Simon Daniels was one of four friends who made a move last year for what is soon to be the site of SPAC3 Fitness.

Tragically Simon lost his life in a paddleboarding accident at Dovestone Reservoir near Oldham, Greater Manchester, a few weeks after the acquisition on October 20, 2024.

Thanks to Bren Blackmore and the other co-owners his legacy as a much-loved, much-missed personal trainer is living on at a new gym which will be open by the New Year.

Bren told the Northwich and Winsford Guardian: "We had an idea of what we were going to do and how we were going to do it.

"What happened to Si happened to Si around six weeks later, so an idea to be done by him became an idea to be done for him."

Bren said all will be welcome regardless of their age and their ability at a facility which will be above and beyond the average fitness suite.

The telecoms engineer said there are ice baths, infra-red saunas, sunbeds, a spin studio and a second studio for the other fitness sessions.

The gym will be at Jubilee Way, Winsford, CW7 1BG. It will be open 24 hours a day.
