Alphabond Adhesives plans expansion at Gadbrook Park HQ

A thriving glue manufacturer plans to expand his research and development facilities and head office in Northwich.

Alphabond Adhesive Technologies already has a single-storey building at Gadbrook Business Centre, but is now looking to build a second facility next to the existing one.

Alphabond started trading in 1994 and has seen impressive year on year growth ever since.

The company makes adhesives used by major international manufacturers across the packaging, labelling, and product assembly industries.

The proposed new building will house its head offices, along with laboratories and workshops, though the planning application states no production manufacturing would be done on site.

A preplanning application has already been submitted to CWAC, which concluded it accepted the proposal in principle.

The DAS adds: “The proposed building is two storeys and will be similar height to other buildings on the estate.

"It is intended to be in keeping with nearby buildings and materials, and footprint and roof design are all similar to the existing buildings.

"The proposal is a stand-alone building and will provide space for additional employees to allow expansion of the company.

"The proposal will not affect the landscaping or access to the front of the existing building, but will require removal of some landscaping to the rear of the site.

“The proposal will follow the building line to the existing building to the east and not exceed any further to the south than the nearby building."
