Chester young professionals urged to join networking event

Young professionals from across Chester came together this week for a brand-new monthly networking event designed to bring together the city’s up-and-coming talent.

The Chester Young Professionals event, held at the Rooftop Social Club, was organised by Elin Davies and Megan Baldwin-Brown, two young professionals based at the Chester office of legal and professional services business, Knights.

Intended to be an informal and introductory approach to the world of networking, the event brought together over 30 attendees from a range of industries, including legal, property, finance, and banking.

Megan and Elin were inspired to launch the series after noticing a lack of networking opportunities for young professionals in the area following the pandemic.

Megan said: “Since Covid, there hasn’t been much going on locally for young professionals, and we wanted to create a space that was informal, friendly and welcoming.”

“Having these events is great for people earlier on in their careers to grow their contacts, gain confidence and build a support network of like-minded peers.”

With interest growing, Megan and Elin are now exploring ways to build upon their events and are encouraging local venues or sponsors to get involved to support the networking events.

The Chester Young Professionals events will take place on the last Thursday of every month, with the next one scheduled for Thursday, August 29, at Rooftop Social Club, from 5.30-7.30 pm.
