Clean Kickz Club celebrated at UK Small Business Awards

A clever business in Winsford which makes tired old trainers shop fresh again had a bumper night at the UK Small Business Awards.

Full-time carer, Joe Terry, launched Clean Kickz Club in 2020 during lockdown after impressing friends and family with the job he did cleaning their trainers.

The 27-year-old spotted a gap in the market and launch his new venture, which was nominated for business awards in three categories back in July.

And for Joe, Clean Kickz Club has become more than just a business after noticing the positive impact it has had on the environment, helping to save trainers and shoes from landfill.

On Saturday, December 13, Joe travelled to Birmingham for the UK Small Business Awards black tie Grand Final at the Eastside Rooms conference centre, and he was not disappointed.

There he found out he had finished fourth in the best new business category, seventh in best business start-up, and was also highly recommended for best new business.

Joe said: “We’re honestly so proud of how far Clean Kickz Club has come.

“To be recognised at the SBA UK Awards is something we never imagined when we first started.

“From a simple idea to where we are now, the journey has been nothing short of incredible.”

The business also works with Barnabus Manchester, a homeless charity, and Shoe Aid, which works to reduce footwear waste and recycle unused shoes.
