Ellesmere Port micro pub plans to take a step forward

Plans to transform a former Ellesmere Port florist into a micro pub and coffee shop have taken a step forward with new business submitting a licence application.

The Coach House lodged plans to convert the Secret Garden at 361 Chester Road with Cheshire West and Chester Council at the beginning of 2024, and renovations have been ongoing.

The business intends to sell coffee, cakes and other treats in the morning, with alcoholic drinks in the afternoon and evening accompanied by bar snacks, such as pies and sausage rolls.

A takeaway service was also discussed for hot drinks and canned and bottled alcoholic drinks, such as craft beers.

A licence application submitted earlier this month states that The Coach House would also have two outdoor seating areas, one at the front and the other at the rear of the premises, where customers can enjoy their drinks and snacks.

A provision for live music ‘in keeping with the modest size of the pub’ such as a singer with an acoustic guitar or a small band, and recorded music would also feature, including at events like a ‘DJ for a private party’.

The plans are currently under consultation with Cheshire West and Chester Council’s licensing department.
