An Ellesmere Port business which did not think it was going to survive the pandemic has thanked those who have supported it through thick and thin and enabled it to reach the finals of a national competition. Lilybetts Catering have issued a heartfelt thank you to the community for enabling it to get to this point, despite Covid striking just as it was preparing to move to big new premises.

Directors Dawn Brady and Danielle Slater had built the business up from its origins in Danielle's kitchen and were poised to make the move to their new base in the town when the whole nation was sent into lockdown. Anxious about having taken such a big step at such a precarious time, they quickly adapted to offer lockdown-style catering, such as frozen meals, a buffet in a box and afternoon teas in a box.
