Northwich care leaver's company to tackle youth unemployment

Sales Excellence's Street2Sales is an eight-week programme designed to build the confidence and the communication of young people who 'feel stuck', giving them the skills that could lead to employment.

From growing up in care to now creating his own company, the 23-year-old founder Elliott Jay Symonds is now aiming to give back to the community, as when he found sales, it 'changed everything' for him.

Elliott said: "I grew up in care and I got into trouble, so I have seen first-hand how easy it is to fall through the cracks.

"Finding sales changed everything for me; it gave me confidence, stability, and a future.

"So that is why I built Street2Sales to create the opportunity I wish I had at 16."

Launching in 2026, the project aims to give people the tools to build sales careers instead of falling into 'long-term joblessness'.

The programme will consist of workshops and corporate training aimed at raising the standard of selling in real estate, retail, construction, automotive, and much more.

"We prepare them for the workplace, not just the classroom," Elliot added. "The workshops cover everything from building confidence and communication to practical sales frameworks, objection handling, and employability skills.

The programme aims to support young people at risk of crime by working directly with councils, probation and youth offending teams.
