Petty Pool Trust launches neuro-inclusive workplace training

A new training programme is helping employers create more supportive workplaces.

The neuro-inclusive workplace training, recently launched by Petty Pool Trust, began with its first session at Hartford Golf Club and is designed to help employers and leaders better support neurodivergent colleagues.

Emma Myles, professional trainer at Petty Pool Trust, said: "We believe that a neurodiverse workforce is not just inclusive, it’s innovative.

"This training is about empowering leaders to understand and champion neurodivergent talent, ensuring every team member feels valued and supported."

The two-hour workshop explored practical strategies for supporting neurodivergent employees.

It also covered common barriers to employment, the responsibilities of leaders in fostering inclusion, and how to handle disclosures and difficult conversations with empathy.

It has a long-standing reputation for supporting young people with learning disabilities and autism on their journeys into education, training, and employment.

The workshop was attended by executive leaders, senior and middle management, line managers, and Petty Pool staff.

Research from the British Dyslexia Association and the CIPD suggests that as many as one in seven people in the UK are neurodivergent.

Employers who recognise and support neurodiversity can improve staff wellbeing, retention, and unlock new perspectives and creativity.

The Petty Pool Trust Employer Training Programme aims to make those benefits a reality across the region.
