Restaurant 209 near Chester celebrates award-filled year

A popular restaurant near Chester has celebrated a successful first year in business which saw it win four prestigious awards.

Restaurant 209, run by husband-and-wife duo Felix Shore and Anna Roseblade-Shore, announced that the bistro will also feature in the Good Food Guide’s Restaurant Month.

Just fifteen months after opening its doors in Farndon, the intimate, produce-led business has seen the pair channel their passion for hospitality, sustainability and their extensive culinary experience.

Restaurant 209 was honoured with Best New Restaurant in Cheshire – Cheshire Life Magazine, Best Small Restaurant – Taste Cheshire, Best Chef in Chester – Chester Hospitality Association, and two circles from the internationally recognised 360 Guide.

Anna said: “We never dreamed we would win so many awards in our first year—especially for doing something we truly love.”

The momentum continues into 2026, as Restaurant 209 has been selected to take part in the Good Food Guide’s Restaurant Month, welcoming members between January 13 and February 13, 2026, for an exclusive, limited-time menu.

Felix said: “We’re setting goals for 2026 that once felt out of reach.

“We’re excited to push the restaurant even further and continue building something we’re incredibly proud of.”

Guests can expect an ever-changing evening menu of snacks, small plates, larger dishes, sharing options, handcrafted desserts, and an extensive wine list.

As the new year begins, Felix and Anna encourage diners to support neighbourhood restaurants: “Before heading into city centres this January and February, take a look at what’s on your doorstep—local independents genuinely appreciate your support.”
