White Horse near Chester announces Guest Chef Series 2026

Some of the best chefs in the world will once again be coming to Cheshire after the White Horse announced the return of its Guest Chef Series.

The events, which have seen top culinary names take over evening service at the popular Churton pub, have been a roaring success since it reopened as an Elite Bistros venue in 2022.

Michelin-starred chefs such as Tom Kerridge, Angela Hartnett, Michel Roux Jr and Emily Roux, alongside leading food writers and well-known names from across the industry count themselves as recent visitors.

The series is built around an intimate dining format, with guest chefs cooking just a few metres from diners in an open kitchen.

Gary Usher, founder of Elite Bistros, said: “From the start the idea was simple.

“Bring great chefs into the pub, cook something special and give people a night worth travelling for.

“What’s been amazing is how it’s grown.

“We’ve now got chefs coming from all over the country to cook in Churton, which is pretty mad when you think about it.

The first events announced for the 2026 Guest Chef Series are:

Thursday, April 2, Get Baked Dessert Collaboration - one of the UK’s most talked-about dessert brands, led by founder Rich Myers and known for bold, viral creations including the 24-layer chocolate cake ‘Bertha’. For this one-off event, Rich will collaborate with Gary and Nathan from Usher’s Bakehouse on a six-course dessert tasting menu.

Thursday, April 16, Ben Lippett - chef, food writer and recipe developer best known as @dinnerbyben, with a large following for his approachable, technique-led cooking and debut cookbook How I Cook.

Wednesday, April 22, Mark Abbott - Executive Chef at Aqua Shard and former Great British Menu finalist, known for refined, seasonal cooking that champions British produce.

Monday, May 11, Andrew McLeish – chef-patron of Chapter One, where he has held a Michelin star and four AA Rosettes, recognised for his precise, produce-led modern European cooking.

Monday, July 13, Cyrus & Pervin Todiwala – the team behind Café Spice Namasté, widely credited with reshaping perceptions of Indian cuisine in the UK, with a long-standing Michelin Bib Gourmand and multiple industry awards.
