University of Chester - Access to Talent Through Funded Work Experience

Having University of Chester work experience students in your business, even if only for a short while, can bring a whole new dynamic and energy to your team. The University’s Employer Engagement Team is currently offering two routes for providing local businesses with facilitated access to student talent through workplace experience.

Route #1: Graduate Internships

This route provides an opportunity for you to host a graduate on a full-time basis for 8-weeks through August and September. Depending on the host business’ circumstances, this can be 100% funded (for very early Start-ups, Charities and Non-Profits, University departments) or 60% funded (more established SMEs).
Route #2: Inspiring Futures Project Placement Scholarships (available Sept/Oct 2022)

The Inspiring Futures Scholarship Placements are part of the University of Chester’s Inspiring Futures Programme which aims to help under-represented students access opportunities to achieve success and advocate equality, diversity, and inclusivity. The Inspiring Futures placements are available throughout the academic year (i.e., from September onwards) and funded directly by the University of Chester as part of its Access and Participation Plan. Any SME or Non-Profit is eligible to host an Inspiring Futures Scholarship Placement at no cost to the host business.

Employers can host one of our current students from under-represented groups for a duration of 216 hours on a part-time basis to fit around their studies, and placement opportunities can be offered virtually, in person or a combination of the two.
