Chester Chippy shortlisted for Deliveroo Restaurant Awards

A Chester takeaway has been shortlisted for a Best Fish & Chips accolade.

Nick’s Wok & Fish Bar, in Sealand Road, is in the running for a Deliveroo Restaurant Awards title.

The restaurant, which has an impressive 4.6 rating from more than 500 reviews on the takeaway platform, has seen its popularity grow since opening in August 2023.

It has received praise for serving some of Chester’s best Chinese, alongside its top-quality fish and chips.

Owner, Nick Ting, says that the recognition “makes the hard work worthwhile.”

Nick spent 30 years at his family’s restaurant, The Slowboat in Frodsham Street, before opening this, his first chippy, just over eighteen months ago.

“I’m just thankful to all the customers who have tried it and kept on coming back.”

This year Deliveroo have recruited guest judge, Celebrity Masterchef finalist and daughter of Michelin-star chef Gordon, Tilly Ramsay, who will be helping to judge the Independent Restaurant of the Year Award and Rising Star Award.

Winners will be announced via Deliveroo’s social channels on Wednesday, May 28, and Nick adds that he will be “over the moon” if his restaurant’s name ends up on the trophy.
