Chester judged one of the top ten places to invest in property

In at no.9:

"Chester, Cheshire

Best place... to feel your family-friendly self

For all the social cachet that comes from the world's oldest racecourse and the WAG-friendly bling of Boodles jewellers, Chester has lacked a bit of sparkle lately. Shop closures, troublesome trains, traffic jams and parking problems have left this city looking its age.

Since the pandemic, however, Chester has been roaring back in style. Parks, good schools and attractive family-friendly suburbs such as Handbridge and Hoole, where a three-bedroom Victorian home costs about £420,000, stopping it falling too far out of favour. Now a new food market and the storyhouse centre, with cinema, theatres and library, have made the city a fun place to spend time again."
