Chester: Luxury hotel leading way in sustainability

A four-star hotel in Chester has been making impressive strides in sustainability.

Rowton Hall Hotel & Spa, in Rowton Lane, has introduced a raft of forward-thinking environmental initiatives, designed to reduce the hotel’s carbon footprint, while enhancing its guests’ experience.

A key highlight is the new Orangery – triple glazed, fully insulated and built using modern passive materials, the elegant space is a wedding and event venue connected to the site’s ballroom.

The hotel has also installed solar panels, which can power the entire hotel and spa on sunny days, marking a major step towards renewable energy use.

A thriving Kitchen Garden provides fresh seasonal produce for the restaurant, and beehives on the grounds support biodiversity and the health of the surrounding environment.

General manager, James Pownall said: “Our mission at Rowton Hall Hotel & Spa is to lead by example, showing that luxury and sustainability can go hand in hand.”
