Chester Suda Sauna on the authentic sauna experience

AN AUTHENTIC sauna experience near Chester is changing peoples’ perceptions of the practice one visit at a time.

Suda Sauna, in Monument Place, Farndon, has recently relocated from Sandy Lane and is proving popular with visitors.

The Standard spoke with founder Evan McKinney about its health benefits, its new location and how visitors can make the most of their time there.

Historically in the UK, Evan says that these spaces have been an ‘afterthought’ and often constitute a ‘hot, dry box’ found in the back of a gym or swimming baths, but his interested was sparked after trying an authentic Nordic sauna in Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire, with friends.

The 32-year-old father of two said that he was feeling ‘burnt out’ from his job in the tech industry but sauna provided a way to improve his mood and mental health through connection with others and the natural world.

Evan began to research the concept intensely, working out how to build one and their historical and cultural context.
