Chester tech firm's move to help struggling pub industry

A RISE in pub closures has led to a change in strategy at a Chester-based tech firm.

Hop Software, which typically develops property management systems for hotels and guesthouses, is now focusing on support for pubs with rooms as they diversify to survive.

The shift comes amid mounting challenges facing UK pubs, with the British Beer and Pub Association reporting the closure of 161 pubs between January and March this year – an average of two per day.
