Coveris announces major investment in Winsford

A packaging manufacturer has announced a major investment into its Winsford site.

Coveris is investing in its polyethylene extrusion facility on Road One within the Winsford Industrial Estate.

The site is Coveris' UK 'centre of excellence for high-performance technical barrier and stretch films', and this investment will enhance its capabilities in the development of sustainable, recyclable films, in line with the company's 'no waste' strategy.

The upgrade includes a new nine-layer blown extrusion line for technical EVOH barrier films, a cast stretch extrusion line, and a 5,000-pallet space warehouse.

These developments will increase the site's capacity to meet the industry's demand for 'sustainable, high-quality' packaging materials.

A new 5,000-pallet space warehouse is also under construction at the Winsford site, which will almost treble the current storage capacity.

This expansion is expected to be fully operational by the end of March 2025.
