Ellesmere Port Mayor's Charity Ball at Civic Hall on Saturday 3rd May 2025

Mayor's Charity Ball at Civic Hall, Ellesmere Port on Saturday 3rd May 2025

Throughout my Mayoral year I will be hosting charity events in support of my chosen charities:

MacMillan Cancer Support -

MacMillan provides services for people living with cancer at every stage of their cancer experience. They provide emotional, practical, physical and financial support.

National Waterways Museum, Ellesmere Port – Basuto Project

National Waterways Museum restore and maintain 2,000 miles of historic canals and rivers. As a charity, support is vital to keep our network protected, provide community engagement projects protect our heritage and nature and mitigate threats to canals and rivers.

Ellesmere Port/Reutlingen Friendship Group -

Twinning between Ellesmere Port and Reutlingen has existed for more than 50 years. Since then, there has been considerable exchange by their citizens. Groups as diverse as sporting groups, e.g. swimming, football, Special Olympics, musical groups including the Light Opera Company, Loins Club International, Sea Cadets and WI have all been involved.

In addition, many school and college students have visited and performed in each other’s town. The Friendship Group annually has a stall in Reutlingen’s Christmas Market. Since 2009 and the creation of Cheshire West and Chester Council, twinning has been delegated at the Ellesmere Port end to a voluntary group, the Ellesmere Port/Reutlingen Friendship Group.

I would be very grateful if you could make a contribution to supporting these events. During the events we will be holding a raffle and/or tombola. I am asking if you would be able to donate a gift or voucher towards these events to ensure their success as fundraising evenings. Please consider buying a ticket or take a table of tickets and coming along to support our Charities, we would love to see you.

Please email the Civic Office CivicOfficeEllesmerePort@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk to  arrange collection or drop off. Please also email the Civic Office if you would like to buy tickets for the Charity Evening in May.
