EMS Healthcare Chooses Charity

The Joshua Tree, a children’s cancer charity in Cheshire, are delighted to announce they have been chosen as the ‘Charity of the Year’ by EMS Healthcare, the UK’s largest mobile clinical research partner.

The Joshua Tree provide bespoke programmes of support to improve the emotional well-being and mental health of all family members affected by a childhood cancer diagnosis and have seen an unprecedented increase in new family referrals since the opening of a purpose-built Support Centre in Sandiway in 2021.

Keith Austin, CEO at EMS Healthcare, commented: “We are privileged to support The Joshua Tree as our designated charity of the year. The work that the charity does is vitally important to families across Cheshire and beyond, and I know our staff are relishing the prospect of rising to the fundraising challenge!”

The Joshua Tree was selected by Commercial Manager, Andy Morris, who was voted EMS Healthcare’s Employee of the Year: “Choosing The Joshua Tree as our charity of the year was a very quick decision and after visiting their premises in Sandiway, and talking to the fantastic team, I knew I’d made the right choice. I knew I wanted to select a charity where every pound raised would make a real difference and I came away from the visit feeling incredibly motivated to help raise as much as possible.”

Andy added: “They’re a very special organisation, doing amazing work, and their services are being requested further and further afield which shows the value of their work. Understandably, this requires additional funding streams and resources, and we can’t wait to get started in helping them with their plans for the future.”

Richard Driffield, CEO at The Joshua Tree said: “We are immensely proud to be chosen as the Charity of the Year by EMS Healthcare and excited by the opportunity to raise awareness and vital funds to continue to support families affected by childhood cancers. The collaboration comes during a time of growth for the charity as we embark upon the next stage of our development”.

EMS Healthcare - headquartered in Ellesmere Port - supplies mobile facilities that relieve hospital capacity pressures and support vital clinical research. EMS partners with NHS Trusts and private healthcare providers, enabling the delivery of essential patient services and clinical research programmes to communities across the country.
