Pub chain Greene King has taken a stake in Cheshire-based restaurant group Hickory's Smokehouse, it has been announced. The news comes following the exit of previous investor Piper after eight years.

The group, which opened its first restaurant in Chester more than ten years ago, says the investment from Greene King supports their ambitious expansion plans to bring Hickory’s to many more guests across the UK.
