Plans for M&S’s Northwich return move forward - expected to create up to 70 jobs

Plans have been submitted for a new M&S Foodhall in Northwich town centre in a move which marks the retail giant's return to the town. If planning is approved, the developer expects to commence preliminary site works by the end of this year.

The proposed new 18,000 sq ft M&S Foodhall, located off Leicester Street, includes customer car and cycle parking, accessible spaces and parent & child bays. Eight electric vehicle charging points will also be provided.

The store would offer M&S’ full product range, including fresh produce from M&S’ Select Farm partners more than 40 of which are based in Cheshire - as well as its Remarksable Value and Bigger Pack Better Value offers.

The store would also feature an in-store bakery, dedicated flower and wine shops, and a click and collect point for online orders.

If planning is approved, the development is expected to create up to 70 new local jobs, alongside further jobs during construction.
