Plans to turn the site of a former Ellesmere Port restaurant and nightclub into a food store have now been confirmed. Central England Co-op (CEC), owners of the old Saffron Indian restaurant and Club Xes premises, have told Cheshire Live about their vision for the town centre site.

The building, which housed the town's last remaining nightclub operating on the first floor, was purchased by the independent retailer earlier this year for more than the asking price. It had been placed on the market for £575,000 back in October last year.
