A SMART dog tag has been launched to help reunite lost dogs with their owners.
Winsford's Dave Purcell has developed an NFC-enabled (near field communication) dog tag designed to reunite lost pets with their owners more quickly and easily.
A former Woodford Lodge High School student, Dave has launched his new business, Lost Then Found, to manufacture the tags.
He said: "When a dog goes missing, owners need information quickly and finders need a simple way to help.
"I wanted to create something that was easy to use in a stressful situation, without an app or an ongoing charge."
Priced at £12 and free from monthly fees, the tags allow anyone who finds a dog to tap the tag with a compatible smartphone, accessing an online profile for the pet.
The owner receives an immediate text and email notification, including the finder’s location if permission is given.
