Zizzi

An Italian restaurant chain is set to make a return to Chester.

Zizzi, which closed its Newgate Street venue almost six years ago, is heading to the city centre's multi-million pound Northgate development.

The chain, which has a restaurant at the Coliseum Leisure Park in Ellesmere Port, has lodged a premises licence application with Cheshire West and Chester Council for unit 7.

It's been no secret that Zizzi has wanted to be a part of the new development, with strong interest being reported back in 2018. In fact, at the end of that year it had lodged a premises licence application despite work not getting underway on the delayed scheme.

The latest application proposes daily opening hours of 11.30am until 12.30pm, with alcohol served until midnight. Consultation on the proposals runs until November 12.
